Overview & Suitability
The First Street Parking Garage, located at the intersection of First and Commerce Streets, serves as a primary public parking facility for downtown Clarksville. This modern, multi-level garage offers over 580 parking spaces, providing a reliable and centrally located option for visitors, shoppers, and those attending local events. The facility is strictly for standard passenger vehicles; it is not designed to accommodate RVs, trailers, or oversized commercial vehicles.
Access, Dimensions & Clearance
The garage features convenient access points from both Commerce Street and First Street. For improved pedestrian mobility, a dedicated bridge on the second floor provides direct, weather-protected access to Franklin Street, placing users just a short walk from various local businesses and the historic Roxy Regional Theatre. Please note that the facility's lowest level is primarily reserved for public safety and law enforcement vehicles.

Parking is managed by the City of Clarksville, utilizing efficient automated payment systems:
- Rates: The standard rate is $1.50 per hour with a daily maximum of $6.00.

Strategic Alternative
This garage serves as an excellent alternative to street parking, especially during peak hours or inclement weather. It is strategically positioned to support visitors heading to the Roxy Regional Theatre, downtown retail shops, and dining establishments, offering a consistent and affordable parking solution compared to the fluctuating availability of on-street metered spaces.
