Overview & Suitability

The Basilica Lot, located at 13 N 17th St in Minneapolis, is a convenient, open-air surface parking facility situated directly under the I-94 highway. It serves as a primary parking destination for visitors to the historic Basilica of Saint Mary and is well-positioned for those exploring the nearby Lowry Hill neighborhood and Loring Park. The lot is open to the public and accommodates standard passenger vehicles; however, it does not provide in/out privileges once parked.

Access, Dimensions & Clearance

The facility is easily accessible via Dunwoody Blvd by turning onto N 17th St, where the lot will be visible on the left. It features unobstructed entry and exit for ease of use. As an open-air surface lot, there are no height restrictions, making it suitable for taller vehicles that might otherwise struggle with traditional parking ramps.

Parking Rates, Tariffs & Booking

The facility offers affordable parking rates, which include a daily rate of approximately $5.00, a nightly rate of $3.00, and free parking on weekends. Monthly unreserved parking is also available for roughly $80.00. Payment can be processed on-site via mobile parking applications, and visitors have the option to reserve their space in advance through platforms like ParkMobile to guarantee availability.

Security & Amenities

The lot is a self-park facility designed for simplicity and efficiency. While it does not feature on-site security personnel, it is a well-trafficked location. Accessible parking spaces are available for those with valid permits. Please note that there are no EV charging stations at this location.

Strategic Alternative

This lot acts as an excellent strategic alternative for attendees of events at the Basilica of Saint Mary, as well as visitors to downtown Minneapolis attractions and Loring Park. Its location near major transit corridors makes it a flexible choice for commuters and event-goers who prefer a surface lot over the complexities of downtown parking ramps.
