Overview & Suitability
The facility located near the intersection of Grand Boulevard and East 22nd Street is primarily a restricted-use parking area associated with the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Kansas City and neighboring healthcare campus infrastructure. This location serves corporate and institutional employees, prioritizing badge-access parking for authorized personnel. It is not intended for general public transient parking and consists of surface and structured parking components.
Access, Dimensions & Clearance
Access to this area is concentrated along E 22nd St. Navigation within the immediate vicinity requires awareness of high pedestrian traffic due to proximity to the Children\'s Mercy Research Institute and physician office buildings. Drivers should note that employee-specific zones require badge access, while general surface lots may have limitations regarding vehicle size and height clearance if utilizing attached garage structures.
Parking Rates, Tariffs & Booking
This is a private facility. Standard rates for non-authorized personnel are not applicable. Employees should consult internal HR or facilities management departments for current parking permits, badge access, or designated monthly parking payroll deductions. There is no public pay-on-arrival system for this specific lot.
Security & Amenities
The facility benefits from the high-security environment of the surrounding medical and corporate campus. Security features typically include monitored badge-access gates, site-wide exterior lighting for evening shifts, and passive surveillance within the building security perimeter.
Strategic Alternatives
For visitors or the general public looking for parking in the Crossroads district or near 22nd Street, this site is not a suitable option. Instead, motorists are encouraged to use public municipal garages managed by LAZ Parking or the various transient parking lots located further north toward the Downtown Kansas City corridor, which offer hourly and event-based pricing.
