Facility Overview
The Bowman Gray Stadium West Parking Lot serves as a primary access point for events held at the historic Bowman Gray Stadium in Winston-Salem, NC. This facility is specifically utilized to manage high-volume traffic for Winston-Salem State Rams games and major racing events. It is a surface-level lot designed primarily for standard passenger vehicles attending stadium functions.
Access and Navigation
Access to the stadium grounds is heavily influenced by event-day traffic management plans. Visitors are strongly advised to consult the official event parking maps as ingress and egress routes can shift based on event type. The area is designed for open-surface parking, though navigation can become restricted during peak attendance periods. There are no specific height clearance restrictions as it is an open-air surface lot, making it accessible for most standard-sized personal vehicles.
Parking Rates and Booking
Event parking policies at Bowman Gray Stadium frequently require advance planning. It is strongly encouraged to secure parking in advance via official event websites or authorized third-party platforms to ensure availability. Prices fluctuate significantly depending on the nature of the event, ranging from general event fees to premium pricing for high-attendance races.
Security and Amenities
The facility benefits from proximity to the stadium\'s event operations staff. While it acts as a dedicated event lot, guests should note that amenities are limited to standard surface parking. Security protocols, including lighting and event-day patrols, are typically enforced by local authorities and event management personnel during active event hours.
Strategic Alternatives
For those unable to secure on-site parking, the vicinity offers various peripheral lots and private parking solutions. Visitors are encouraged to explore pre-booked options through regional parking services to avoid the high demand experienced at the stadium’s immediate West Lot. Always check local transit updates, as shuttle services from auxiliary lots like those near Civitan Park are frequently utilized for large-scale events.
