Facility Overview
The Delaware Park Kirkwood Lot, located at 1051 Delaware Park Blvd, Wilmington, DE, serves as a primary parking destination for the sprawling Delaware Park Casino and Racetrack complex. This facility is an expansive, open-air surface lot designed to accommodate high-volume traffic. Because it is a surface-level lot, there are no vertical clearance restrictions, making it an excellent choice for drivers operating full-size SUVs, pickup trucks, or vehicles with roof-mounted cargo carriers that might otherwise struggle in traditional parking garages.
Prime Location & Nearby Attractions
This lot is situated in the immediate vicinity of Delaware Park, a premier destination for thoroughbred horse racing, casino gaming, and sports betting. It provides unparalleled proximity for patrons visiting the clubhouse, the slots floor, or the various dining establishments within the resort. The location is also well-positioned for those traveling to nearby Wilmington hotspots or commuting via the major regional arterial roads, providing a stable \"base camp\" for both leisure visitors and those attending track events.
Access, Navigation & Transit Connectivity
Accessing the lot is straightforward via Delaware Park Blvd, which connects efficiently to major regional highways including I-95 and DE-7. The ingress and egress routes are optimized for high-capacity flow, though drivers should anticipate moderate congestion during major racing events or weekend peak hours. Public transit options in this area are primarily served by DART First State bus routes, which provide connectivity to the broader Wilmington metropolitan area.
