Overview & Suitability
The GKTW Volunteer Parking lot is a dedicated, private parking facility located within the Give Kids The World Village, an 89-acre nonprofit resort in Kissimmee, Florida. This lot is specifically reserved for active, scheduled volunteers, employees, and authorized guests of the resort. It is strictly not open to the general public, standard tourists, or nearby theme park visitors. Standard passenger vehicles, including cars, SUVs, and standard-sized vans, are permitted, provided the driver is registered for an active volunteer shift. The primary volunteer parking lot is situated close to the Engineering Services area on the property.
Access, Dimensions & Clearance
The facility is located at 210 S Bass Rd and features a gated entrance with strict access control. Upon arrival, volunteers must verify their scheduled shift to gain entry. The resort operates under a strict safety-first policy with a maximum speed limit of 10 mph across the entire property, and cell phone use while driving is strictly prohibited. While the outdoor lot accommodates standard vehicle dimensions with ample open-air clearance, larger vehicles or RVs should coordinate in advance. Dedicated accessible parking spaces are conveniently situated near the Volunteer Services building for those with valid ADA placards.
Parking Rates, Tariffs & Booking
Parking is entirely free of charge for scheduled volunteers and authorized resort guests. Since this is a restricted, non-commercial facility, there are no hourly, daily, or monthly parking rates, and no pay stations, apps, cash, or credit cards are accepted. Instead, booking is achieved by registering for a volunteer shift through the Give Kids The World Volunteer Portal prior to arrival. Only individuals with a confirmed shift are permitted to park on the property.
Security & Amenities
As a specialized resort catering to critically ill children and their families, security is of the highest priority. The property features fully gated access, staffed entry gates, and continuous monitoring. For added convenience, the facility features active EV charging infrastructure, including free-to-use ChargePoint J1772 dual-plug charging stations located to the left of the Greeting Services entrance, which volunteers can use to charge their electric vehicles during their shifts.
Strategic Alternative
Unlike commercial lots, GKTW Volunteer Parking does not serve as a public alternative parking option for nearby Central Florida attractions, Walt Disney World, Universal Studios, or transit hubs. Unauthorized vehicles attempting to use this lot for off-site attraction parking will be denied entry at the gate or are subject to immediate towing, as the resort's space is carefully preserved to support its nonprofit mission and protect the safety and privacy of its resident wish families.
