The Grapefruit Parking Garage is a state-of-the-art parking facility located at Disney Springs in Lake Buena Vista, Florida. Opened in 2019, this multi-level garage features five stories of standard self-parking designed primarily to accommodate standard passenger cars, SUVs, and light trucks. Unlike the primary parking zones directly adjacent to the retail promenade, the Grapefruit Garage is situated across Buena Vista Drive and serves as an important hub for both guests and Cast Members. A dedicated, covered pedestrian bridge seamlessly links the garage to the Marketplace section of Disney Springs, emerging right near the iconic World of Disney and Basin stores. Standard passenger vehicles are highly suitable here, but oversized vehicles, RVs, and motorhomes are restricted from parking inside the structure and must utilize designated outdoor surface lots.
Access, Dimensions & Clearance
The Grapefruit Garage is only accessible from eastbound Buena Vista Drive. It features a generous vertical clearance of 14 feet 5 inches (14'5"), which is taller than typical commercial garages and comfortably accommodates elevated passenger vans and unmodified pickup trucks. However, despite the tall entrance clearance, extremely long vehicles, trailers, and heavy RVs are not permitted due to the tight turns, narrow ramps, and aisle dimensions inside the structure. The facility employs advanced smart-parking technology, with street-level digital marquees displaying real-time space counts for each level and overhead green and red indicator lights that visually guide drivers directly to open individual spots.
Parking Rates, Tariffs & Booking
Standard self-parking at the Grapefruit Garage is completely complimentary (free) for all visitors, making it a highly cost-effective option for anyone spending the day or evening at Disney Springs. No pre-booking or reservations are required—access is offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Valet parking, which was formerly an option, was discontinued in late 2023. For drivers using the electric vehicle charging stations, fees are processed through ChargePoint (standard rates of approximately $0.35 to $0.40 per kWh with progressive pricing applied after a set grace period) and can be paid via credit card or a pre-registered ChargePoint card.
Security & Amenities
As a Walt Disney World property, security is highly visible and strictly maintained. The Grapefruit Garage is exceptionally well-lit, outfitted with comprehensive CCTV surveillance, and patrolled regularly by Disney security personnel. Before crossing the elevated pedestrian bridge into the Disney Springs Marketplace, all guests must pass through a mandatory security screening checkpoint. The facility features ADA-compliant accessible parking on multiple floors, modern elevators, clean stairwells, and three level 2 ChargePoint electric vehicle charging stations located on the 3rd floor of the garage.
Strategic Alternative
When the highly popular Orange and Lime garages build up long queues during peak weekend dinner rushes or holiday seasons, the Grapefruit Garage serves as the ultimate strategic fallback. Savvy drivers bypass the congested traffic lines on Buena Vista Drive and head straight to Grapefruit. Parking here and taking the brief walk across the covered skyway is often much faster than waiting in idling bumper-to-bumper lines at the closer garages. Additionally, the pedestrian bridge drops guests directly in the high-density shopping area of the Marketplace, offering a fast and direct entry point to the district's best retail and dining locations.
