Overview & Suitability
The GSO-Long Term Parking facility serves as the primary outdoor parking solution for travelers utilizing the Piedmont Triad International Airport (GSO). This lot is specifically designed to accommodate long-term parking needs, offering a convenient, cost-effective alternative to the terminal garage for travelers departing for extended periods.
Access & Navigation
The facility is located directly on airport grounds at 1000 Ted Johnson Pkwy. The area is designed for standard passenger vehicles, SUVs, and light trucks. Navigation is straightforward with clear signage leading from the main airport access road. As an open-air surface lot, there are no height clearance restrictions, making it suitable for oversized vehicles that cannot fit into the covered parking structures.
Parking Rates & Booking
Rates are structured to incentivize longer stays. While specific daily and hourly tariffs are subject to seasonal adjustments by the airport authority, the long-term lot remains the most economical parking tier available on-site. Payment is typically processed via automated kiosks upon exit using major credit or debit cards.
Security & Amenities
The lot benefits from being situated within the airport\'s controlled perimeter, featuring:
- Regular security patrols by airport police.
- Well-lit parking aisles for evening arrivals.
- Dedicated shuttle bus service connecting the lot directly to the terminal building.
- 24/7 operational capability to match flight schedules.
Strategic Alternatives
This facility acts as the official overflow and economy parking alternative to the Hourly and Daily terminal decks. It is the recommended choice for leisure travelers, business commuters on multi-day trips, and anyone looking to minimize parking expenses while maintaining close proximity to the GSO terminal.
