About this Location

Facility Overview

The Johnston Street and General Mouton Avenue parking facility provides open-air surface parking strategically positioned on the southern edge of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette (UL Lafayette) campus district. Offering an unobstructed, ground-level layout, this outdoor lot eliminates overhead clearance barriers, making it an exceptional parking option not only for standard sedans and compact cars but also for oversized pickup trucks, tall SUVs, and work vans that cannot navigate standard multi-story parking garages. Wide turning aprons and defined stall markings ensure smooth vehicular movement throughout the facility.

Visitor & Driver Tips

Because of its immediate proximity to the university campus, parking occupancy peaks significantly on weekday mornings between 8:30 AM and 1:30 PM during the academic semester. Arriving early or during class change intervals will yield the best stall selection. Drivers attending major university athletics or seasonal events should check posted on-site payment signage and fee schedules upon arrival to verify time limits and avoid municipal or private enforcement penalties.
