Facility Overview
Kiwanis Park is a vital community recreational hub located in the heart of Elberfeld, Indiana (ZIP 47613), situated in northern Warrick County. The parking facility consists of an open-air surface parking area serving park visitors, sports league participants, and community festival attendees. Because it is a ground-level, outdoor lot without overhead structures or clearance bars, the facility offers unlimited vertical clearance, making it suitable for standard passenger vehicles, family minivans, full-sized pickup trucks, SUVs, and youth sports team vans. During youth league tournaments and seasonal festivities, overflow parking on adjacent grass and neighborhood streets may be coordinated by local volunteers.
Prime Location & Nearby Attractions
The parking area offers direct and immediate on-foot access to all of Kiwanis Park\'s recreational amenities and Elberfeld community fixtures, including:
- Kiwanis Park Athletic Fields & Batting Cages: Steps away from baseball and softball diamonds, batting cages, and team dugouts managed in coordination with the Elberfeld Community League.
- Handicap-Accessible Playground & Basketball Courts: Directly adjacent to modern, inclusive playground equipment, swings, merry-go-rounds, and full outdoor basketball courts.
- Town of Elberfeld Center: Situated within a short 3 to 5-minute walk of downtown Elberfeld municipal services, post office, and local dining spots.
- Local Community Events: The primary parking destination for annual community summer events, youth sports opening days, and Kiwanis Club fundraisers.
Access, Navigation & Transit Connectivity
Vehicle ingress and egress are arranged via local surface roadways connecting directly to State Road 68 (SR 68), which links Elberfeld to Interstate 69 (I-69) to the west and Interstate 64 (I-64) to the north and south. The parking area features straightforward apron entrances from the street. During major festivals or tournament finals, traffic flow may be organized into a dedicated one-way entrance and exit route to maintain pedestrian safety around active playgrounds. Given the town\'s quiet rural setting, there is no municipal fixed-route transit system; visitors arrive primarily by private personal vehicle, bicycle, or neighborhood pedestrian stroll.
