Overview & Suitability
The Mableton Park & Ride Lot (also known as the CCT Mable House Park & Ride Lot) is a dedicated public commuter parking facility managed in partnership with CobbLinc in Mableton, Georgia. Designed primarily to accommodate standard passenger cars, SUVs, and light trucks, this surface lot acts as a staging ground for transit riders and carpoolers. It is strictly designated for commuter parking, meaning commercial vehicles, overnight semi-trucks, and recreational vehicle (RV) camping are not permitted. It provides a convenient, clean, and organized parking environment for daily commuters utilizing local transit routes like CobbLinc Route 30.
Access, Dimensions & Clearance
The facility features an open-air, street-level layout with no overhead height restrictions, making it suitable for standard passenger vehicles of all heights. It is easily accessible via Maran Ln SW, just off Floyd Road and near Veterans Memorial Highway. The entrance and driving lanes are spacious enough to accommodate standard passenger cars and public transit buses comfortably. Drivers will find the layout simple to navigate with clearly painted stalls, wide turns, and accessible parking spaces near the boarding zones.
Parking Rates, Tariffs & Booking
In alignment with CobbLinc's commuter initiatives, parking at the Mableton Park & Ride Lot is entirely free of charge for transit patrons and carpool/vanpool participants. There are no hourly, daily, or monthly parking fees, and no reservation or pre-booking is required. Parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis. However, overnight parking is generally discouraged, and vehicles left unattended for extended periods may be subject to ticketing or towing.
Security & Amenities
The lot is equipped with standard safety and convenience features, including paved parking stalls, bright night-time overhead lighting, and clearly marked pedestrian pathways. While the lot is an unstaffed 'park at your own risk' facility, it is regularly monitored by local municipal patrols. A sheltered transit waiting area is situated directly adjacent to the parking spaces, protecting riders from the elements while they wait for their bus.
Strategic Alternative
Beyond its primary commuter function, the Mableton Park & Ride Lot serves as an excellent, cost-free alternative parking spot for visitors attending events at the nearby Mable House Barnes Amphitheatre or exploring the Mable House Arts Center, both located just over the hill. It is also highly convenient for recreational enthusiasts looking to access nearby green spaces and the famous Silver Comet Trail without having to navigate crowded trailheads.
