Overview & Suitability
The Main Street Parking Garage, often identified in proximity to Navarro Street, serves as a central hub for commuters and visitors in downtown San Antonio. This facility is specifically designed for standard passenger vehicles. Please note that it is not equipped to accommodate oversized vehicles such as RVs, trailers, or campers. It is ideally suited for those looking to access the heart of the city, including nearby offices, the La Villita district, and major downtown attractions.
Access, Dimensions & Clearance
Navigation within the downtown core involves one-way streets and high traffic volume, especially during event hours. The facility has a maximum vehicle clearance height of 6\'7\", which drivers should verify before entry to ensure their vehicle can safely navigate the internal ramps and ceiling limitations.
Parking Rates, Tariffs & Booking
Pricing varies significantly based on demand, special events, and duration. While transient hourly parking is available, visitors are strongly encouraged to pre-book their space through platforms like ParkMobile or ParkWhiz to secure a spot and potentially access more predictable rates. Payment methods typically include mobile app transactions, which allow for touchless entry and exit. Be aware that flat-rate event pricing may be in effect during high-demand periods at the nearby convention center or theaters.
Security & Amenities
The garage offers standard urban parking security features, which generally include:
- CCTV surveillance monitoring.
- Well-lit parking levels for improved visibility.
- Secure, gated entry/exit systems.
- Wheelchair-accessible parking spaces available for qualified drivers.
Strategic Alternative
This location serves as a premier alternative for visitors heading to the Henry B. González Convention Center, the Majestic Theatre, and various River Walk dining and retail destinations. By parking at this facility, guests can avoid the congestion of immediate curbside areas while remaining within a comfortable walking distance of primary tourist and business corridors.
