Facility Overview
Situated along the primary thoroughfare of Kenner at 901 Airline Drive, Park & Ride MSY Airport offers an expansive, dedicated surface parking facility tailored for travelers flying in and out of Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport (MSY). Designed as an expansive open-air parking lot, the facility accommodates high volumes of passenger vehicles without the height restrictions and confined maneuvering typical of multi-level airport decks. Its wide drive aisles and generously sized standard stalls make it exceptionally accommodating for full-size pickup trucks, large SUVs, work vans, and vehicles equipped with roof racks or cargo carriers.
Prime Location & Nearby Attractions
While primarily engineered as an off-airport park-and-ride facility servicing MSY, the location sits squarely within the vibrant commercial and cultural corridor of Kenner, Louisiana. The lot is positioned just minutes south of the main airfield and offers convenient proximity to key regional venues:
- Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport (MSY): Minutes away via dedicated shuttle transit directly to the North Terminal curbside.
- Rivertown Historic District: Approximately 2.5 miles south, featuring museums, local theaters, planetariums, and Mississippi River viewing decks.
- Pontchartrain Convention & Civic Center & Treasure Chest Casino: Located roughly 4.5 miles north on the shores of Lake Pontchartrain.
- Esplanade Mall & Kenner Retail District: A quick 5-to-10-minute drive north along Williams Boulevard.
- Downtown New Orleans & French Quarter: Readily accessible within a 15 to 20-minute drive eastward via US-61 or Interstate 10.
Access, Navigation & Transit Connectivity
The facility provides seamless vehicular ingress and egress directly from Airline Drive (US Highway 61), a major divided artery connecting Kenner directly to Metairie and New Orleans to the east, and St. Charles Parish to the west. Quick connectors via Williams Boulevard and Loyola Drive offer rapid links to Interstate 10, facilitating simple highway navigation for travelers across the greater metropolitan area. Airport connectivity is anchored by on-demand and scheduled shuttle buses that transport passengers straight to the MSY terminal departure and arrival levels. Additionally, Jefferson Transit (JeT) local bus routes and regional RTA express bus links operate stops along Airline Drive for local staff and regional transit riders.

Visitor & Driver Tips
To ensure a stress-free travel experience, plan to arrive at the facility approximately 20 to 30 minutes before your targeted airport terminal arrival time to allow for parking, shuttle boarding, and luggage handling. Snap a quick photo of your row identifier and space number upon parking to facilitate an effortless pickup upon your return flight. During major New Orleans event weekends, such as Jazz Fest, Mardi Gras, and major college football bowl games, pre-booking your parking reservation online in advance is highly recommended to guarantee your space.
