Overview & Suitability
The Robert E. Robinson Parking Garage is a multi-story city-owned municipal parking facility. Situated on the historic site of Liberty Square—one of Savannah's "lost squares" that was paved over for the civic development of the Chatham County Courthouse and this very deck—it offers 520 parking spaces. This facility is perfectly suited for standard passenger cars, sedans, SUVs, and light trucks. Due to vertical clearance limitations typical of multi-level garages, it is not suitable for RVs, trailers, motorhomes, or other oversized vehicles, which are directed to the Savannah Visitor Center lot at MLK Blvd.
Access, Dimensions & Clearance
The garage is bounded by State Street to the north, York Street to the south, Jefferson Street to the east, and Montgomery Street to the west. Drivers can enter the garage from York Street (flowing eastbound) or Jefferson Street (flowing two-way). Exits lead onto State Street (flowing westbound) or York Street. Navigating the surrounding streets requires attention as many are one-way. Inside, the garage features a standard multi-level layout with ramps, elevator access on the east and west sides, and a clearance limit accommodating standard passenger vehicles. Large vans or lifted trucks should exercise caution and check overhead clearance signs upon entry.

- Active rolling overhead and pedestrian sliding gates to secure the facility.
- Elevators and well-lit stairwells painted with level-identifying color-coded branding.
- Four dedicated Tesla Destination Electric Vehicle (EV) charging stations.

Strategic Alternative
This garage serves as an exceptional, highly affordable base for exploring the Historic District of Savannah. It is located directly adjacent to the Telfair Museums (including the Jepson Center and Telfair Academy) and is within a very short walking distance (less than 5 minutes) of the bustling Savannah City Market and Ellis Square. It also serves as a strategic, budget-friendly alternative for events at the Savannah Civic Center (located just across the street) and a 1-mile transit/walk alternative for events at the Enmarket Arena.
