Overview & Suitability
Visitor Lot J is a premier open-air, street-level parking facility located on the Kennesaw Campus of Kennesaw State University (KSU). It serves as a primary parking zone specifically reserved for campus visitors, guest lecturers, and event attendees. Standard passenger cars, SUVs, and light trucks are welcome to park here. However, due to standard stall dimensions and university regulations, overnight RV parking, motorhomes, and heavy commercial vehicles are restricted.
Access, Dimensions & Clearance
Since Visitor Lot J is an outdoor, flat-surface parking lot, there are no overhead height clearance restrictions, making it an excellent choice for taller passenger vans and vehicles with roof racks. The entrance is easily accessed off Parliament Garden Way and Prillaman Way. Navigating the lot is simple, with clear signage, wide driving aisles, and well-marked standard parking bays.
Parking Rates, Tariffs & Booking
Parking rates are structured to accommodate short-term and full-day visits, with enforcement active to ensure space turnover. The tariff rates are:
- Under 30 minutes: $1.00
- 31 minutes to 1 hour: $3.00
- 1 to 2 hours: $6.00
- 2 to 3 hours: $8.00
- 3 to 4 hours: $10.00
- Each additional 30 minutes: $1.00
- Daily Maximum: $12.00
Payment must be initiated upon arrival. KSU features a completely contactless, digital parking system. Drivers can pay via the ParkMobile app by entering Zone 35105 (subject to a $0.35 transaction fee), or they can use the physical pay-per-plate kiosks available within the lot that accept major credit and debit cards.
Security & Amenities
Security is highly prioritized on the university campus. Visitor Lot J is equipped with robust overhead lighting and is continuously patrolled by the Kennesaw State University Police Department. The university utilizes advanced License Plate Recognition (LPR) technology to monitor compliance, so ensuring your license plate is entered correctly in ParkMobile or at the kiosk is essential. While there are no direct EV chargers in Lot J, charging stations are accessible at nearby campus parking structures.
Strategic Alternative
Visitor Lot J is strategically situated directly adjacent to several of KSU's cultural and academic landmarks, making it the absolute best parking hub for the Bernard A. Zuckerman Museum of Art, the Bailey Performance Center, and the Joe Mack Wilson Building. Additionally, it offers quick walking access to the Prillaman Health Sciences building and the Jolley Lodge. For visitors looking to explore the rest of the campus without re-parking, the lot is located near stops for the Big Owl Bus, KSU's complimentary campus shuttle service.
