Because this is a traditional indoor parking garage with multiple levels, it cannot accommodate oversized vehicles, motorhomes, boats, trailers, or RVs. Visitors traveling in oversized vehicles are encouraged to seek parking at the nearby Savannah Visitor Center parking lot, which has dedicated outdoor oversized spaces.

The facility features a maximum height clearance of 7 feet (84 inches), limiting access to standard passenger cars and smaller SUVs. The garage occupies a block bounded by State Street to the north, York Street to the south, Jefferson Street to the east, and Montgomery Street to the west. Vehicle entry is highly convenient, with designated entrances located on the south along York Street (an eastbound one-way street) and on the east along Jefferson Street (a two-way street). Vehicles can exit onto State Street (westbound one-way) or onto York Street. The layout is structured over 5 levels with clear lane indicators, though drivers should exercise caution around tight turns, particularly during peak times.

The Robert E. Robinson Parking Garage operates with highly competitive, city-standard rates. On-site payments are entirely card-based, accepting major credit cards (such as Visa and MasterCard); cash is not accepted. Key pricing details include:
- Hourly Rate (Monday - Friday, 5:00 AM - 5:00 PM): $2.00 per hour or portion thereof.
- Evening Flat Rate (Monday - Thursday, 5:00 PM - 1:00 AM): $2.00 flat rate.
- Friday Evening Flat Rate (5:00 PM - 5:00 AM Saturday): $2.00 flat rate.
- Daily Maximum Rate (Monday - Friday): $20.00 per day.
- Weekend Flat Rate (Saturday 5:00 AM to Sunday 5:00 AM, and Sunday 5:00 AM to Monday 5:00 AM): $5.00 flat rate per day.
- Monthly Passes: Options range from $85.00 (Monday - Friday, 5:00 AM - 9:00 PM) to $100.00 for unlimited access during operating hours. A special monthly overnight rate of $35.00 is also available for parking between 3:00 PM and 6:00 AM daily.
- Special Events: During major local events, flat rates ranging from $5.00 to $25.00 may apply, pre-empting standard daily tariffs.
The lost ticket fee is $42.00. While pre-booking is not standard for daily parking (which operates on a pay-on-arrival basis), special pre-sale permits are occasionally offered for major events like the annual St. Patrick's Day Parade.
