Overview & Suitability
Safeway Airport Parking at Westshore Plaza offers a cost-effective, self-park solution for travelers needing long-term storage for their vehicles. Located within the Westshore Plaza parking garage, this facility serves as an off-site parking option specifically tailored for those seeking budget-friendly alternatives to on-airport parking. Please note that this is a standard passenger vehicle facility; it is not designed for RVs, oversized trailers, or commercial motorhomes.
Access, Dimensions & Clearance
The facility is located on the 2nd floor of the Westshore Plaza garage (Macy's side). Access is gained by traveling west on Gray Street off of Westshore Boulevard, where signage directs drivers to the ramp leading to the designated parking levels. Drivers must be aware of the strict 6-foot height restriction within the garage. Navigation is straightforward, and the facility provides elevator access to assist with luggage transport.
Parking Rates, Tariffs & Booking
This facility is highly competitive, often providing rates significantly lower than official airport terminal parking, sometimes starting as low as $5.00 per day. Pre-booking online is strongly recommended to secure a spot and ensure a seamless experience. Upon booking, guests are required to print their confirmation and display it clearly on their vehicle dashboard. Failure to properly register the vehicle may result in enforcement action, including towing.
Security & Amenities
The garage is equipped with security cameras to monitor the premises. While there is no dedicated on-site attendant, the facility is well-lit and benefits from the security presence of the surrounding shopping plaza. A rideshare waiting area is available on-site for those coordinating transport to the airport.
Strategic Alternative
Located approximately 1.5 to 2 miles from Tampa International Airport (TPA), this site serves as a premier strategic alternative for budget-conscious travelers. While there is no complimentary shuttle service, the proximity to the airport makes it easily accessible via rideshare apps (Uber/Lyft) or local public bus transportation, which costs approximately $2.00 per ride. Its location at Westshore Plaza also places travelers within walking distance of various dining and retail amenities.
