Facility Overview
Spruce Creek Campground is a premier 35-acre outdoor facility located at 2342 NY-29, Dolgeville, NY, nestled in the scenic foothills of the Adirondacks. Unlike standard urban parking garages, this is a specialized recreational parking environment designed primarily for campers and RV enthusiasts. The grounds feature 31 full-hookup RV sites, with generous pad sizes ranging from 50 to 65 feet, accommodating everything from standard passenger vehicles and pickup trucks to large full-size RVs and trailers. The terrain consists of level stone pads set within a grassy landscape, ensuring ease of access without vertical clearance limitations often found in covered structures.
Prime Location & Nearby Attractions
The facility is strategically positioned for nature lovers and history buffs. It offers direct frontage along nearly one mile of Spruce Creek, a state-stocked brown trout stream. Beyond on-site recreation, visitors are within a short drive of significant regional landmarks, including the historic Fort Herkimer Church, Fort Klock, and the Oriskany Battlefield. It serves as an ideal base camp for those looking to explore the Erie Canal corridor, regional diamond mines like the Ace of Diamonds or Herkimer Diamond Mine, and various Adirondack hiking and paddling trails.
Access, Navigation & Transit Connectivity
The campground is situated along State Route 29. Drivers arriving from the New York State Thruway (I-90) should take Exit 29A and follow local signage toward Dolgeville and Salisbury. Please note that standard GPS directions may not always provide the most RV-friendly route; calling the facility ahead of your arrival for navigation advice is highly recommended. The entrance is located on the south side of the road, just before the bridge and the Salisbury Town Garage.
