Overview & Suitability
The NSC Super Rink, located within the expansive National Sports Center (NSC) campus in Blaine, Minnesota, is the world's largest ice arena facility of its kind, housing eight ice sheets under one roof. The parking infrastructure is designed to accommodate high-volume athletic events, tournaments, and daily programming. While primarily a surface-level parking environment intended for standard passenger vehicles, the campus also provides designated areas for RVs and campers to engage in dry camping during specific events.
Access, Dimensions & Clearance
The facility features extensive surface parking with approximately 1,100 spaces directly associated with the Super Rink, supplemented by thousands of additional spots across the broader NSC campus. There are no height restrictions typical of covered parking garages, making it accessible for larger vans and vehicles, provided they adhere to marked stall dimensions. Navigational ease is high, though visitors are encouraged to follow campus signage to specific lots, such as the Super Rink North and South lots, to ensure the shortest walk to their designated rink entrance.
Parking Rates, Tariffs & Booking
Parking at the NSC Super Rink is free for visitors and event participants. There are no hourly, daily, or permit-based fees for standard parking. No pre-booking is required for general passenger vehicle parking; however, participants are strictly instructed to park only within designated NSC parking lots to avoid the risk of towing from adjacent private business properties.
Security & Amenities
The parking facility benefits from the overall security measures of the National Sports Center campus. While not a guarded or gated lot, the area is well-lit and experiences high levels of activity during operating hours. Convenience features include two electric vehicle (EV) charging stations located on the south-west side of the Super Rink parking area.
Strategic Alternative
This facility serves as a primary hub for visitors attending major hockey showcases, figure skating competitions, and sports tournaments. Its ample parking capacity makes it a strategic alternative for spectators looking for convenient access to the wider NSC campus, including the Victory Links Golf Course and the M Health Fairview Dome.
