About this Location

Overview & Suitability

Sweetwater Organic Community Farm is a working, non-profit organic farm and environmental education center. Parking at this location is strictly designated for visitors, volunteers, and market patrons. There is no public or vendor parking allowed inside the farm gates. Visitors must utilize designated street-side or overflow lots nearby, as the farm operates on a community-based parking policy to ensure harmony with local neighbors.

Access & Navigation

  • Primary Lot: A dedicated lot for approximately 30 vehicles is located at 7318 W. Comanche Ave (the “tan building with a green roof”).
  • Overflow Parking: If the primary lot and fence-side parking are full, an additional 70 spaces are available at the church parking lot located at the corner of Hanley Road and Comanche Avenue.
  • General Access: Parking is intended for standard passenger vehicles. Large commercial vehicles, RVs, or trailers may find navigation tight due to the suburban nature of the access roads and limited lot sizes.

Parking Rates & Tariffs

Parking at Sweetwater Organic Community Farm is free of charge for guests and market patrons. There is no automated pay-station system, ticketing, or pre-booking required for standard daily parking. Visitors are simply asked to follow the posted parking signage upon arrival.

Security & Amenities

The facility provides basic surface-level parking. Security features are limited to local signage and the presence of farm staff during operating hours. As this is an active, open-air farm environment, visitors are encouraged to park in designated areas only and respect surrounding private property boundaries.

Strategic Alternative

While not a traditional commercial parking garage, the Sweetwater lot serves as the essential access point for those visiting the farm for the weekly Sunday Farmers Market, workshops, or educational tours. It acts as the primary hub for community-supported agriculture (CSA) members picking up produce shares. Visitors should note that parking demand is highest during Sunday markets and special event days.
